I was looking through my photos and realized I completely forgot to document our hail. In June. In southern California. Crazy, huh?
I went outside at work and it was hailing! Then it poured rain. Then it hailed again. Like buckets. And it was all over in less than 3 minutes. It is supposed to be the cusp of summer! What it is is Armageddon, I tell you. Stockpile the supplies and batten down some hatches.

I miss hail storms (sort of). I grew up in the Midwest and the spring/summer wasn't complete until you had some good hail storms. I think that definitionally, hail storms are in the spring and summer (something about the heat and the cold mixing together in thunderstorms...) but it's always a surprise. Hail storms don't strike me as common in California. I'm in the NYC area (have been since I left CA in 1994) and I don't ever remember having a hail storm out here. I'm so glad you got a picture.
