First things first: Shout out to Rebecca! She's one of the nice people from my Bible study and I was telling her about my blog tonight and I said I'd mention her. Everyone say hey to Rebecca! Tell her she needs a blog! :)
So, 'member my New Year's Resolutions? One was to learn to make soap. Well, I haven't done that yet, but I did do this
Melt & Pour soaps. The orange is tangerine and the blue is jasmine. The orange looks a bit oily but I think it was condensation from coming out of the cold, cold freezer. I really like the way the blue turned out. The orange was supposed to look similar, but I didn't let it set up enough so it came out more marble-y.
I added coconut oil and cocoa butter to the melt n pour stuff. I got the idea from a Crafters Coast to Coast episode. The best tip was to spritz the soap with alcohol to get the bubbles out and once again before pouring the next layer to help it adhere better - worked great!
I've been going through all the craft stuff - trying to become a lean, mean crafting machine and dump the junk I have no interest in doing again. I knew I had about 2 lbs of melt n pour, but I didn't know I had about 15 essential oils! When did I get all those? Seriously, my house is a Michael's in disguise. I think I have at least one of everything. Test me. Ask me if I have something - chances are I do. Go 'head. Ask me.... You know you want to....
In other news, I'm still sleeving away on the Sonnet sleeves. I really think these sleeves require 9 million rows of garter stitch. Thankfully, I'm on row 8 million. I should finish by the end of the week.
Speaking of weeks - healthwise, this one has been very good for me. I feel a little more like myself, although I'm still tired all the time. I've got yet another prescription waiting for me. I think that at the end of this ordeal I'm going to be able to operate as a part-time pharmacist.
i love that soap i can almost smell it! YUM! i just got a job at micheals i can't wait to use my disount! i'd love to live in a craft store!
