Yes, I was naked in public tonight. I was out and about on the streets of San Diego naked as a jaybird. I can't say as it was a totally comfortable feeling at first, but after a while I adjusted. Now I barely even notice.
I think it was good for me. I just may go out again without my cell phone. I hear millions of people do it all the time. Can't say as I'd want it to be a regular thing, but once in a while a little public nudity isn't a bad thing.
I can't believe I have to go to work again tomorrow. (Actually, I'm just going so I can get my cell). I mean isn't it enough I showed up on Tuesday, Wednesday AND today? I would really much prefer to stay in bed eating bon-bons tomorrow. *sigh.* The things I do to support my yarn habit.
Spent yesterday evening at Lori's in Alpine. She's got scads of new yarns in, but I just wasn't up to processing. Perhaps because I left my birthday gift certificate at home and I didn't want to be tempted to spend too much cash. I'm wanting to buy something truly decadent with my certificate.
I don't know about you, but for me the progression of yarn purchases has been rather amusing to reflect upon. When I first started knitting I would look at all the "expensive" yarns wistfully, wondering if I would ever knit well enough to justify that kind of splurge.
I remember my first "decadent" yarn purchase - a ridiculous cost of $8! Oh the indulgence! Next came 3 (three!) skeins of Noro (meh.) for almost $36. On yarn?! Clearly I was on some kind of crack. $20 on sock yarn, $25 on laceweight. I started turning my nose up at any yarn sold at Michael's or Jo-Ann's. Yeah, I know....yarn snob.
Now a $40 skein of yarn doesn't even cause a blink. I don't have any yarn that expensive yet but it's just a matter of time. Can a quivit coat be far behind?
Happy New Year! Happiness and success in 2011.

Hey, I blew $100 on a hank of hand dyed mohair in NM last October. My partner almost dyed - no, died. Now I work in the Local Yarn Shop and spend all my paycheck on yarn - and I just started knitting last September.
Way back in 2006, I think, you were gifted some yarn Aurora irrestringibile - means not shrinkable. I picked it up tonight on Google checking on some Torino from Tahki. I'm using it for a stripe in an afghan I'm making - hot pink and turquoise along with other fibers in a rainbow of colors.
