Did I show off this hat? It's knit in Takhi Bunny Print with a glut of buttons stitched on for special effects. I've posted it in my Etsy shop, but it's not getting any interest. Wrong time of the year? Wondering if I should make more come fall.
I'm calling it Buttonchops and I'm still working on getting my photos better. Some of the items in my shop have an almost constant rotation of photos. I can't seem to get it right.
And then I look at some people's shops and their photos are blurry and being worn by the dog or shown on a garbage heap or something and they have half a trillion sales. I really should have a better "framing" eye, but I really don't. On the plus side, I am learning a lot about my camera.
These earrings were really difficult. The inside beads are a translucent, opalescent pink with a slight bluish cast. Sticking them on the yarn is the best picture I could come up with that most accurately represented the colors.
This yarn used to be my Wyvern sock. It looked kind of redonk in this color. I think those socks should be in a more earthy tone. Speaking of yarn, I'm on a sock yarn buying diet until I finish at least 3 pairs of sock because my yarn basket overfloweth.
If you have any great photo ideas, I'm glad to give them a try.
Oh, those are the Trifection earrings in jade.
I picked up Craft Inc.the other day at The Grove. (Warning: DON'T go to the yarn store when it is too hot to stay in the house.) I'm reading it slowly, but it seems to be a good guide. Most of the one at the library barely reference the internet, so it's hard to get more than a few nuggets of good advice.
Back to the garden. Something has been munching on my leaves. The tomato and cucumber plants are the victims this time. I finally found the squeensiest little green worms who were the culprits. I mixed up a recipe of water with a little Bronner's peppermint soap and sprayed away. Stopped the buggers in their tracks. You do have to be careful to only spray the leaves. It wouldn't do for pepperminty cukes, now would it?
I picked up some lemon verbena last weekend in the hopes of duplicating the yummy tea Nancy made with ginger, I think. I'm going to have to find some shade for it because it is getting too much sun and the leaf edges are starting to look a little scorched.
I've also planted some bush beans and some lettuces. I know its a little too late in the season to get a good lettuce, but I thought harvesting them as wee babies would make for a least 2 or 3 good salads.
Speaking of babies, this gardening thing is like having a kid! I water twice a day, fertilize once a month, go tiny game hunting among the leaves at least twice a day, research, stake, harvest - well, you get the picture. It's another full-time job. Hopefully it will be cost effective. I've got about $70 invested right now, so that isn't too bad. At the very least, it will prepare me for next spring.
And since it's Friday, here's an Etsy mini from my favorites. Enjoy!
Happy Birthday Ms Trudy!!!

Here's a link I've found to be really helpful

I take pictures in the room that has the best light on top of a white sheet. So sophisticated, I know.
