I've been knitting. Not great knitting, but there's been actual clacking of the needles. It resulted in this.
It's supposed to the Santa Cruz hat from What If Knits. But really, it's a physical lesson in why I shouldn't cable and socialize at the same time. As you can see, it's also a bit short for m'noggin. And snug. Live and learn.
I used the sock weight yarn version and I cocked it up somewhere around the first pattern repeat.I still can't figure out where this yarn came from. Maybe from Wendy?
Still, it wasn't a bad knit and I'm not put off with the results. But as for this girl having a lightweight hat to wear during our southern California lightweight winters...the jury is still out.
A bit of a teaser: big, big (I mean BIG) news may be on the horizon. Keep fingers crossed and prayers said! Thanks!
Every time I've tried to pray or lit a candle, the person I've been doing it for dies...so um, I'll stay out of this one but I'll think good thoughts and hope that doesn't jinx it?
I love the hat and think it looks great! It looks like it might be the leftovers from this sock:

I'll be down in S.D. this week and hope we can all get together sometime, although I know everybody's probably pretty busy.
