I made a bracelet!

I was looking at the cardboard insert from a roll of tape and found that it fit my wrist perfectly.  So I decided to cover it with polymer clay.

Became this:

The background was a Skinner blend of dark purple and teal.  It looked great going into the oven - the gradient of color was really subtle - but coming out of the oven that gradation was gone.  I think the colors were too close in tone.

I also did a rubbish job of blending the overlapping pieces of clay.  Hopefully that will sand out.  It was difficult getting the clay to stick to the paper.  Next time I think I should use the Poly Bonder from Lisa Pavelka.  Still, for a spur of the moment idea, I think it came out great!

Post-Post Depression

Yeah.  So I had this perfectly lovely post just about completed.  Was just going to add another photo and *blip*!  Blank screen.  Nada.  Nothing.  Zippo.  Blank as Paris Hilton's face at a third grade spelling bee.  We're talkin' nothing there.  Great.  Now I'm depressed and Tom Cruise won't let me have a Zoloft.  Nice.

And there were links, too.  Links like you wouldn't believe.  This post was everything that was lusciously linky.  Links you would have talked about for days on end with your friends and colleagues.  But they're gone now.  And I'm too lazy to get them back.  And cranky.

Here's the pictures of the brainstorm I had on the stairs tonight as I came home.

I took one of Clearsnaps Style Stones (imagine handy link here) and smooshed some polymer clay into it then baked with insouciance....I didn't check ahead of time to see what these "stones" were made of so it could've been one gianormous melty mess, but I got lucky.  I'm working on how to finish the thing off - want the white bits more of an ivory/ecru color.  Aged maybe.  We'll see.

I can't believe my computer died on me while I was NOT playing Sims.  That seems like a warning doesn't it?  I've got to do some maintenance.  I've got files placed willy-nilly all over my HD.  Not good.  But I hadn't fixed it because it wasn't really that incovenient. 

Speaking of Sims - here's a great pic of my Sim, Zuzu.  She's aged into a nice granny type person.  I love this outfit.  All grannys should have waist-baring cleavage, don't you think?
